ECOC 2022 Registration is open! Register now and join Europes’s largest event in the field and one of the most prestigious and traditional events on optical communications worldwide.

ECOC 2022 will be held as a hybrid conference. The full conference experience with all technical sessions and social events will only be available for onsite attendees (preferred choice). Yet, all regular and most special technical sessions will be accessible and live-streamed online.

Great news! ECOC 2022 has reached pre-Covid level with more than 600 submissions. Witness the latest breakthroughs from materials and devices to systems and networks.

Note: ECOC 2022 Exhibition registration for exhibitors and visitors is available on ecocexhibition.com. Registration for the exhibition is free of charge.

Registration Rates

The registration rates below are for in-person and online attendance at ECOC 2022 in Basel. Registration entitles to both types of attendance.

Early registration will be available until 1 August 2022.
Regular registration will be available until 17 September 2022.

Exchange rates: 1 CHF = 1.02 EUR = 1.04 USD (5 August 2022)

Student is defined as enrolled in either a Master degree or PhD programme. Proof of active student enrolment needs to be provided when picking up your conference badge. Presenters who fulfill this condition upon paper submission still qualify as students. Post-docs may not register as students. 

The above membership rates apply for members of: Optica, IEEE, EPS, and EOS.

The conference registration desk is located at the Entrance of the ECOC Exhibition in Hall 1.

Registration and Travel Grants

Attendees with limited budget may ask for a registration waver. In addition, a few travel grants will be provided to people in need. Press Registration

Payment and Refund Information

Credit cards are accepted (VISA and Mastercard).

Bank Drafts and Wire Transfers — Please indicate on your registration form which bank was used and when the deposit was made. Cancelling a Registration:  Requests must be received in writing by Monday, 29 August 2022. A processing service charge of CHF 75 will be assessed. Cancellation requests submitted after Monday, 29 August 2022 WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. Please allow four to six weeks to process a refund request.
